Each and every day as we enjoy our master bedroom space, we are reminded of the good work, guidance, and attention to detail that Stephanie Bunda provided for us. She took the time to visit our home, listen to our opinions, meet our golden retriever Bodhi, and helped us find the Thibaut Hunting Dog fabric to begin our work. A perfect inspiration to compliment the chairs, cushions, and window treatments that you helped us select and design to make this room special.
We are grateful for your work and proud to recommend you and Designworks to anyone wishing to furnish and decorate a special space.

Stephanie Bunda has decorated three of our homes in the last 12 years. What we loved about Stephanie is from the very beginning she gets to know her customers and what their “style” or likes are and then she effortlessly makes selections that all flow together. She sometimes offers suggestions we would never think of and we end up LOVING them!
Stephanie is very talented, fun to work with, and she has such an expertise of the various lines of furniture and products that she can easily tie things together.
All of our projects with Stephanie have been a great experience and we continually get great rave reviews from all of our friends and family. She is a true delight to work with and we have become very good friends with her.
Thanks Stephanie for all your help with our projects through the years!

“Prior to moving into our newly-built home, my husband and I contacted Stephanie at Designworks. We had designed our home with windows that maximize our view of the bay. We knew we needed window coverings but didn’t want to compromise our view or beautiful new windows. Stephanie came to our home with samples of various selections. With her knowledge and advice, we were able to select the perfect blind to meet our needs. In addition to our window coverings, Stephanie assisted us with upholstery pieces, throw rugs, and side tables to give our home a finished look. We feel that Designworks is our ‘home away from home’! Stephanie willingly listens to our needs and does her best to find just what we want.” ~

“We bought a beautiful home here in Door County several years ago. Our living room furniture had seen better days and the house also needed to be spruced up, so we went to Door County Nature Works and promptly entered into very friendly conversation with a woman who we later found out was the owner of the store. We told her we needed help with redecorating and she referred us to Stephanie Bunda, one of the interior decorators [at designworks].” She came out to the house and saw what needed to be done and got a flavor of our personal taste. Stephanie was so organized and thorough. She had different plans with fabrics pulled and pictures and furniture possibilities. The rooms we were working on were all drawn to scale and she had pictures drawn to scale so she could show us the different conceived layouts. I was really impressed how she had listened to our needs. Since the original living room upgrade, we have contacted designworks to help out upstairs. Once again, she has risen to the task and has very promptly responded to our needs. I appreciate Stephanie’s great sense of color and style and willingness to get the job done promptly with great attention to detail. I highly recommend her and designworks to anyone wanting help redecorating their home or business.”
I have had the pleasure of working with Stephanie at designworks | Door County. I did an extensive redecorating project recently and worked very closely with Stephanie. I was absolutely delighted with her ability to understand what I was trying to achieve. She pulled together colors, patterns, fabrics, wallpaper and everything else to create a wonderful new environment for our home. The company went above and beyond what I expected – I left for the winter season and they took over and were in charge. Stephanie photographed everything as it was so that after the home was painted, they could return the accessories exactly where they had been! They moved furniture, stored furniture to be reupholstered, and took care of every detail, such as checking up on the job, consulting with the painters, and keeping me informed of what was taking place. I had such confidence in Stephanie that I asked her to redo a bedroom on her own and it turned out beautifully!
What fun it was to walk in the front door in the spring and see everything in place – beautiful window treatments and newly upholstered furniture, lovely rugs and a whole new color scheme! Amy helped me with some glass tile work which we used to help update the kitchen – again, the work was meticulous and beautifully done. The atmosphere of this company is so upbeat and fun! They are delightful to be around in addition to being very talented. I would not hesitate to recommend them for any job – they were perfect for mine!
Last spring, my husband Tom and I decided to change the flooring to our entryway and powder room and turn an existing room into a first floor laundry room. We thought about doing it on our own but decided to check out Design Works first. We set up a meeting with Amy Gulseth and the rest is history. Not only does Amy have her design degree but she also has a manufacturing background, which sold us immediately.
Amy came to our home to assess our needs and began taking measurements for the plan. While we never ever really discussed a budget, Amy was very mindful of costs of materials to use and finding the most efficient way to get the job done. She is very organized and knew just how to prioritize the steps for a smooth progression.
One of the important aspects of Amy’s business is her access to the tradesmen, who respond quickly to her requests. In our location it is nearly impossible to coordinate busy tradesmen for a job on one’s own. We actually started on our project two weeks early and never had to wait for workers. The men who worked on the job were polite, considerate and very good at what they did.
Amy was very good at keeping things going once we started and responded to emails or phone calls quickly. We are thrilled with our new room which turned out even better than anticipated. Amy was a pleasure to work with and certainly relieved the stress of doing it ourselves immensely. We would recommend her highly!!

To Whom It May Concern:
Amy is a design consultant/project manager for Designworks of Egg Harbor, WI. She assisted us with the remodeling of a single-family residence that we recently purchased. We wanted to update the kitchen as well as freshen up the look of the place, without over improving from the standpoint of eventual resale. Our concern was that a designer might not be interested in our “budget-minded” approach.
Amy proved to be a very pleasant surprise.
-She listened to what we wanted, without pressure for upgrades
-She has a good eye for design, while working with our preferred color palette
-She had creative ideas for an improved look at a reasonable cost
-The team of trade people she has assembled was truly impressive with respect to skill, quality of work, timeliness, and cost effectiveness
-She served as the de facto construction project manager, and managed the trades to meet target dates, without cost overruns
-Communication with us was excellent and timely
As we worked with Amy we came to realize that she has worked with many projects, some of which are significantly larger than our remodel. We would be confident to have her work with us on any future future projects, and whole-heartedly recommend her for this type of work.

The best word to describe Amy and her team at Door County Design Works is “INCREDIBLE”. We purchased a 30 year old condo in Sister Bay that needed extensive remodeling and didn’t know where to begin. We are from Illinois and had no idea who we could trust to do carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, etc. While opening an account at the local bank, the banker told us about Amy and Door County Design Works. What a life saver. Amy coordinated the whole project in a very calming and competent way. Complete painting, remodeling of 3 bathrooms, new solid oak doors and trim, new carpeting and updated electric work all took place while we lived in Illinois. Amy kept us updated during the whole project via phone and e-mails complete with progress pictures. The job was completed exactly on time and at the price quoted. No surprises at all except when we opened the front door for the 1st time to see how beautiful everything was. The condo was left in pristine condition completely clean.
We can’t recommend Amy and her team enough. When it’s time to do the kitchen we know who we will be relying on.

To Whom It May Concern:
We would like to highly recommend Amy Gulseth of Designworks to anyone thinking of remodeling. We found her to be very knowledgeable in every aspect of the renovation of our bathrooms. The team of people from construction and tiling to painting, electrical, and plumbing all did quality work while taking great care in keeping a clean environment concerning the rest of the home.
We couldn’t be more pleased with the custom cabinets from Peninsula Creations and also would like to thank Nick for initially recommending Amy as a project manager. He couldn’t have been more correct!
Amy kept us informed at all times and responded quickly to any question no matter how small, often emailing pictures to us to help explain a situation or just because we enjoyed seeing the progress. A couple of problems became evident during the demolition of the old bathrooms and different solutions were suggested immediately and cost effectively.
Since we were not able to be there during the process, being so well informed left us feeling comfortable throughout. Along with the security and cleanliness in which her team operates, we found everyone we spoke to on her team to be extremely pleasant, positive, and professional.

To Amy’s next lucky client,
We are delighted with our renovated condo in Ephraim. That delight can be attributed to Amy Gulseth and her team from Designworks in Egg Harbor. From inception to completion, the project moved smoothly and professionally. Questions and concerns were addressed calmly, effectively, and efficiently and always with grace and good humor. In other words, as clients we didn’t face unnecessary stress, and at no time did we feel overwhelmed by the process.
Amy was quick to identify our goals and needs, determine our tastes and life style, as well as aligning those elements with our budget. For example, she selected a few samples of carpeting and tiles for bathrooms and kitchen that completely met our needs and wants. We immediately liked her selections and quickly chose the tiles and carpeting in a matter of minutes. What could have been an overwhelming decision was made easy because she narrowed the possibilities to an appropriate number of options that would meet our needs.
Amy has assembled a very skilled and responsible team to meet client needs. Each member of the team went out of their way to meet our needs, always trying to attain the best outcome. In our case, the carpeting and tiling were key factors of the project. The two men that did all of the carpeting and tile work were exceptional. They were extremely skilled in what they did and they had an eye for even the smallest details. They demonstrated very good problem solving skills and anticipated end results. Beyond that they were extremely easy to work with and professional in their approach to the project.
Amy’s thorough knowledge of all the factors involved in a project of this scope and her keen sense of design were key to our successful renovation. She is an exceptionally good project manager and she manages her team with professionalism and an acute sense of what motivates people on her team to do their best work. It is those qualities that brought about the finest results.
We couldn’t be more pleased with Amy Gulseth and would highly recommend her to others. She does quality work, with quality products, and in a pleasant and professional manner. We would use her again when the need arises.

To Whom it May Concern:
This letter is to give our strongest support for Ms. Amy Gulseth. We recently worked with Amy on an extensive remodeling project of our Door County cottage. She presented her ideas in a well-thought out format that complimented and enriched the intrinsic décor of our log cabin.
Amy worked with us in assessing our selections to represent the best combination of function, price and aesthetic appearance. She accompanies us on many trips to the various vendors we dealt with on this project. She was an active participant in putting forth ideas and making sure that everything would be additive to the finished project.
The coordination and supervision of the various craftsmen fell under Amy’s supervision. She was the general contractor in all aspects of this project. She was often on site and made sure that the work was properly done to her specifications and met her high standards.
Communication was excellent in keeping us informed of progress and unforeseen issues as they arose. Happily, more than once, she was able to come up with ways to save the day. This is a tribute to her many years of experience in the design field.
The project is complete and we are very happy with it. We look forward to many years of enjoyment in our cottage. It is out pleasure to highly recommend Amy Gulseth and her expertise.

To Whom It May Concern:
This letter is my personal recommendation for Amy Gulseth, Interior Design and Project Manager for designworks. Amy has been our designer on several large projects and I have always found her to be consistently pleasant, tackling all tasks with dedication and determination.
Besides being a joy to work with, Amy is a take-charge person who is able to present creative ideas and communicate those ideas with great professionalism. She has successfully helped us design Cooper’s Corner in Fish Creek, WI; Cherry Hut in Fish Creek; and most recently a major renovation to Door Peninsula Winery of Sturgeon Bay, WI. Her attention to detail is impeccable and her work ethic a real asset.
I highly recommend Amy for any interior design projects and will be using her again in my own future endeavors. She has a great talent and passion for her job.
To Whom It May Concern:
I have worked with Amy Gulseth for over a year on a two part remodeling project of our Sister Bay home. My husband and I are both thrilled with the results.
I found Amy via an internet search and interviewed her on the phone before we had purchased our home. On very short notice Amy came to our home prior to purchase to help us determine if we could make the changes to the existing home that we wanted. I was very impressed with her responsiveness.
After we purchased our home, Amy did a great job getting a sense of our decorating preferences and offered ideas that captured our tastes. She created a plan that reflected our personal interests. She had an eye for detail and offered tactful direction, if she had concerns about the end result. Amy was also very sensitive to budgetary issues and would offer the gamut of decorating options from reasonable priced options to high end options and supported whatever we chose.
Amy was very responsive to any questions and concerns and was seemingly available around the clock. Much of our two phase project took place while we were away from the site. Amy was an excellent project manager. She kept us in the loop and kept the lines of communication flowing between us and the contractors. She kept all components of this multi faceted project moving forward in a timely manner.
Our end result is a home we are very pleased with as it reflects not only our personal style but the lifestyle needs of our family. I can, without question, highly recommend Amy as a decorator and project manager.

As the owner of Gordon Lodge I have worked with Amy on several design projects. I have consistently found her to be very professional and attentive to details. She understands her product lines, she is creative, and has always had valuable design resources to support our projects.
I have enjoyed her friendly, warm manner and appreciated her willingness to solve any problem that has been presented. It has always been my feeling that our satisfaction has been her top priority.
To Whom It May Concern:
Ms. Gulseth manages all interior design elements associated with building our retirement home in Fish Creek, WI. This was an extensive project covering the design, selection and installation of the following elements:
Granite for four bathrooms, two powder rooms, kitchen, butler’s pantry, laundry and bar areas;
Flooring throughout the house (natural stone, carpeting, hardwoods);
Stone and metal tiles for all bathrooms, kitchen and bar areas;
Window treatments (plantation shutters, curtains, blinds)
Interior and exterior paint/ stain colors;
Furniture and fabrics in every room;
Hardware throughout the house.
Our project was made somewhat more complex in that we expected all of the design elements above to complement our existing are collection. Ms. Gulseth exceeded all of our expectations and we are thrilled with the look of our new home.
In addition to assisting us with the above items, Ms. Gulseth proved to be an invaluable resource in dealing with our general and sub-contractors. Her extensive knowledge of the building trades and her large network of contacts through the region enabled us to get work done in a high-quality and timely fashion.
Throughout our working careers, we have moved numerous times domestically and internationally and have built and/or redecorated many homes. We can honestly say we have never worked with anyone more capable, creative and organized than Ms. Gulseth. In addition to her design and project management capabilities, we are particularly impressed with her interpersonal skills and ability to work smoothly with a wide variety of personalities (tradesmen, suppliers, and very demanding owners) in finding practical and satisfying solutions to the myriad of issues that inevitably arise during any building project. We would highly recommend Ms. Gulseth to anyone considering and/ or building project.

We worked with Amy for the better part of a year in designing a 2800 sq. ft. home at Horseshoe Bay CC. I really don’t know what we would have done without her. We found her to be the perfect liason between home buyer and developer/contractor. Her sources within the design/construction community run very deep which she can tap for virtually any job that needs to be done. She is very open, creative, always with a fresh idea, well organized, responsive, and always stood up for our best interests. We highly recommend Amy to anyone who is considering building or remodeling a home. Amy is a PROS PRO and an absolute delightful woman.

To Whom It May Concern:
It has been and is my pleasure to work directly with Ms. Amy Gulseth in projects with my clients and developers at Horseshoes Bay Farms and Golf Club. Her level of professionalism is exceptional; putting client requirements ahead of her own.
Amy’s customer skills have helped me hold complicated transactions together through her ability to soothe the buyer and negotiate independently with the builder. Her personality and knowledge of construction enable her to speak clearly to buyers in their language as well as to constructions superintendents on the job site. She is very easy to work with ; from advice on design concepts before construction, all the way through completion of the project.
Most of our buyers reside a long distance from Door County and yet Amy is able to gain their confidence and maintain the relationship from the finish selections all the way to the closing. My principal source of business is from existing buyers who have had a positive experience; I trust Amy to assure that positive experience.
I would be delighted to work with Amy on future projects and am pleased to be in a position to recommend her to others with confidence.
I cannot begin to thank you enough for all of your help and hard work in restoring our home after the flood. Your knowledge and quick thinking was a welcome quality at a time when we felt pretty helpless.
Your diligence and attention to detail was greatly appreciated considering we were not able to be at the site. It was wonderful to be able to count on you to make decisions I could feel comfortable with. It was clear you listened to exactly what I wanted in design and quality. I truly enjoyed working with and getting to know you through this process. You are a credit to your profession!
To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing this reference letter in support of Amy Gulseth, Door County Nature Works, who assisted us in a recent project at The Pines at Horseshoe Bay.
I am a partner in two development entities at Horseshoe Bay. The first, Horseshoe Bay TTM, LLC, acquired a total of approximately 55 acres in the Horseshoe Bay Farms community. The second entity, The Pines at Horseshoe Bay Farms, is currently developing The Pines condominiums. The Pines is a 28-unit project consisting of single-family detached homes and twin residences starting at approximately $525,000.
I first met Amy when she was with a previous company. Amy started a working relationship with a purchaser of ours and continued their relationship with Amy during this transition. Having worked with Amy on this project, I understand why.
Amy is very talented in a number of areas. Her decorating and design talents are very strong. In addition, her customer service and attention to detail is unsurpassed. During our association with The Pines we relied on her several times to communicate project schedules, building requirements, and unique challenges to the customer and she always delivered with desired results. Above all, Amy has a clear understanding of the construction process from a builder/developer point of view and that knowledge and talent was greatly appreciated.
I wholeheartedly endorse Amy for your project.
